Career

Fashion Label

Renae launched a streetwear label called ARX in 2002. The label was a men's and women's streetwear brand, wholesaled in boutiques in a number of stores in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Japan.

Fashion icon Paris Hilton is a fan of the label, and appeared on the cover of Who Magazine in ARX fashions at the MTV Movie Awards in 2004.

In 2005, at the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in Sydney, Amber Renae dressed Olympic swimmer Geoff Huegill in ARX clothing for the runway of her fashion parade in the emerging Australian designer section. The show received national media exposure.

In 2007, Renae was appointed to the selection panel of the inaugural Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane. Renae was also the winner of the Cox Plate Fashion on the Field contest in 2008.

It is worth noting that, although Renae's design work has received wide acclaim, she does not have any formal fashion training.

Project Runway Australia

Despite her lack of formal fashion training, Renae was selected as a participant in season two of the Arena TV series Project Runway Australia. The series was one of the most popular local productions on Arena TV. The competition was eventually won by designer Anthony Capon, who went on to show his collection at Rosemount Australia Fashion Week. Renae finished ninth, but was widely credited with making the most out of the show, regularly featuring in Arena TV promotions and advertisements for the programme.

Appearances

Following her appearance on Project Runway Australia, Renae quickly established herself as a media personality and began a career in television presenting, interviewing well-known personalities including actors Andie MacDowell and Melissa George.

She is the resident reporter for Fashion TV and has interviewed many of Australia's greatest fashion talent, including Dion Lee, Kate Sylvester and Manning Cartel.

Renae has also appeared on Nova FM's morning show with Hughesy and Kate, and has co-hosted radio shows with Hayley Pearson on Nova FM, and Mike Goldman's drive show on c913FM. She recently hosted a fashion segment entitled "Kiss My Style" on Kiss FM.
